Lieutenant Colonel Sean W. Stumpf is the Commander, Air Force ROTC
Detachment 115, University of Connecticut at Storrs, CT. He is directly
responsible for the training, mentoring and professional development of
future Air Force officers.
Lieutenant Colonel Stumpf, born in the Bronx, New York, earned his
commission through the Reserve Officer Training Corps at Syracuse
University in 2007. Upon entering the Air Force, he attended
Specialized Undergraduate Navigator Training at Randolph AFB, where
he earned his navigator wings in 2008. Lieutenant Colonel Stumpf later
earned his pilot wings from Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training at
Sheppard AFB, Texas in 2014. Throughout his career, he served in a
variety of positions at the squadron, wing, and HQ Air Staff levels.
Prior to his current position, Lieutenant Colonel Stumpf was the 317th
Operations Group Deputy Commander at Dyess AFB, Tx.
He is a five time Distinguished Graduate, Air Force Doolittle Trophy Winner and has
extensive combat experience spanning six deployments employing
tactical airlift. In combat, Lieutenant Colonel Stumpf has commanded
two Squadrons, and logged more than 1000 combat hours and 650
sorties in support of Operations ENDURING FREEDOM, IRAQI
FREEDOM, NEW DAWN, FREEDOM SENTINEL, NEW NORMAL,
SPARTAN SHIELD and INHERENT RESOLVE.
